Step 1
We check slab flatness, moisture, and structural movement, then patch, self-level, or add backer board so the substrate meets ANSI flatness requirements before tile ever goes down.
Step 2
Showers and wet areas get a bonded waterproof membrane (sheet or liquid). On problematic slabs, we add an uncoupling/anti-fracture membrane to protect tile from minor slab movement.
Step 3
We dry-lay the field, balance cuts on focal walls, align grout lines with cabinetry and fixtures, and confirm the layout with you before mixing thinset.
Step 4
Tile is back-buttered where required, set in the correct thinset for the material and substrate, and grouted with sanded, unsanded, or epoxy grout depending on joint width and use.
Step 5
Natural stone is sealed, silicone is run at every change of plane and movement joint, and we walk the entire job with you before we call it done.
